In the spring of 2014, a restyled sedan Geely Emgrand 7 (EC7) was presented at the Beijing Auto Show. The pre-styling model turned out to be popular not only in the Chinese market, but also in the CIS, so the manufacturer decided to release a homologation version. The front-wheel drive sedan received a stylish radiator grille, other bumpers, redrawn head and stern optics, as well as other wheel disks.

The restyled Geely Emgrand 7 (EC7) is driven by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. New to the powertrain lineup for the model is the turbocharged 1.3-liter unit. They are supposed to be paired with a variator. But the classic motor is also compatible with 5-speed mechanics, and the turbocharged version is aggregated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
