Such a great looking engine inside and out.

Did they mention the exhaust port sizing and have they done any porting of the internal part of the exhaust manifold which is quite unique on this? Will be interesting to see if exhaust backpressure is an issue on the dyno. Packaging wise the exhaust system looks so neat and less likely to crack on the tubular part which is a bonus.
Its a great time when a top outfit is being so open in their early development. The breakdown video of their 1000hp Toyota 4 pot is also very interesting.

Yes, they mention further on in the vid that the head has been ported and flowed.

A heard that but wondered on the integral exhaust manifold that is part of the head. I think I've missed a previous vid as he noted them at the flow bench in a previous vid so I'll need to check back.

Very interesting that they dumped the charge cooling in favour of an old fashioned intercooler.

I thought that, must be a reason for it - maybe you can just get more cool air in using an FMIC. Or it just looks cooler!!

I subscribe to them, so as soon as they put the dyno video up I'll post it back here.
Imagine taking that built engine and putting it into a 140/240!!

Intercooler is probably for simplicity and scale. Less to leak, easier to adapt the install, potentially lighter.
I've seen many issues with charge coolers heat soaking. Many reviews for the M3/4 talked about power dropping off quite fast as track laps go up. CSF did their "game changer" charge kit to attempt to address this. It probably increases the time to reach material heat soak. This heat soak may not be obvious on a low load sweep run on the dyno as M140 dyno runs don't show any obvious issue. Obviously the output is much lower than the 1000hp aimed for here.

That's a given, I wouldn't want to put it into my standard 240!!

Agreed, I'm sure they'll have to upgrade it somehow.

They'll ditch it for a manual or 3 speed drag box.

this is awesome, heard a lot of good things about the supra, not sold on the looks yet but its pretty cool that the supra and its b58 engine has been welcomed into the tuning world with open arms, proves that the b58 is a good engine which is not in quite a lot of cars.

It's one of the best engines to ever have existed.
